AT THE SHORE

Or should I say "down the shore"?  Isn't that what the Northeast natives say? Either way, I had a wonderful time meeting the T. family in NJ this weekend.  What a fun, undeniably happy group they were!  Here are just a few images that caught my eye when I returned home from our weekend at the shore yesterday.  Thank you, T. family!

First up are the two cuties who stole the show, of course!

And a few more that I just love. Is there anything better than a weekend away with family and friends?

More soon! :)

JUST A COUPLE MORE OF THESE SWEET GIRLS

Aren't they just so adorable?  Their gallery goes up tomorrow and I wanted mom and dad to have a few more sneak peeks to tide them over! They were so patient as I got my new computer up and running (remind me next time to do that in January during the slower season!).  Here are a couple of my favorites from the shoot:

A MAX & RUBY PARTY FOR MY FAVORITE FOUR YEAR OLD

Four?  Really?  How could it possibly be that my baby is four? For the past year she has had so much fun reenacting the Max and Ruby episode "Ruby's Birthday Party" from Berry Bunny Adventures. She would hold the "party" in our living room and make us play musical chairs, stick the tail on the bunny, and red light green light in that order.  Only then--as Max too found out--could the "cake" be eaten.  Of course a Max and Ruby theme was a given this year, then!  Did you know there is pretty much no such thing as Max and Ruby party stuff?  Mama was on her own this year. :)

Here are some snaps from the big day on Saturday.  The birthday girl was so exhausted from the weekend's festivities that she took her first nap in practically 6 months today.  Yay for parties! :)

Forgive any color wonkiness . . . I am on my new computer and not quite calibrated yet!

Here we have "Max's worm cake" and "Ruby's angel surprise cake with raspberry fluff icing."

There were lots of bunny treats for the little ones.  Everything from organic carrots to decidedly non-organic marshmallow "bunny tails."

a flower "birthday cake" courtesy of my lovely MIL.

Hey, who is that hiding in the ivy? :)  And the birthday girl blows out her candles.

Did you know it is nearly impossible to take photos while hosting a party? Whew!

And here's one more that I love, taken after all the guests had gone home.  What a day!

POINT-AND-SHOOT WONDERLAND

We went to Dutch Wonderland for the first time on Saturday and my little one had so much fun!  As for me . . . well let's just say I am impossibly spoiled having grown up an hour from Disney World and leave it at that. ha ha!!  But seriously, it was a fun day for all and . . . the best part . . . I was unencumbered by "the big camera" as I tried out my new point-and-shoot for the first time.  I loved just being a mom taking snapshots for a change.

A few captures from the day, including some slow shutter fun:

and the carousel again . . . ;)

MINI-SESSION ANNOUNCEMENT!

We are thrilled to announce holiday mini-sessions!  These limited-availability sessions will be offered on two Saturdays in October, the 4th and the 25th (rain date November 1st).  Sessions on each date will take place at a location Joyce selects (you come to her); October 4th will be a location in the Main Line area and October 25th will feature a Philadelphia locale.

A mini-session is for you if you've recently had a session with Joyce but would love new images for your holiday cards or to mark a milestone, but aren't quite ready for a second full custom session yet.  Or perhaps you've been meaning to try a Joyce Smith Photography session but just haven't gotten around to it.  Or maybe you're a friend of a client who wants to get a small taste of what it's all about.  Or maybe you just want a few gorgeous fall images of your family. While our mini-sessions cannot compare to the completely custom experience of a full session, they are perfect for any of these situations.

These limited availability sessions were announced to current clients on Monday and the response has been phenomenal!  There is ONE spot remaining for the Main Line date and a few more for the Center City date.  If you are interested, just e-mail me or submit the Contact form accessible from the menu above.  If you'd like to be added to the mailing list, just let me know!

Note: if you prefer the luxury of a full custom JSP session at your home or outdoor location of your choice, the calendar for the remainder of 2008 is open and a few dates remain.  Just drop me an e-mail or give a call!

A little peek at the lovely newsletter (which went out with the wrong title this time . . . oops) which will be legible when you receive it in your inbox, of course. :)

Finally, another quick peek for the B. family--your gallery is almost ready! How fun are these?
